King mattress dimensions and shopping guide
A standard King mattress is approximately 76 inches wide and 80 inches long. It gives two sleepers about 38 inches of nominal width each and is about 16 inches wider than a Queen. Include the frame, nightstands and walking space when deciding whether King fits your room.
Standard King, California King or Split King?
Standard King emphasizes width. California King is approximately 72 by 84 inches, trading four inches of width for four inches of length. A Split King normally uses two Twin XL mattresses for the standard King footprint and can allow independent sides with compatible adjustable bases.

Is a King mattress the same as two Twins?
No. Two standard Twins are usually about five inches shorter than a King. Two Twin XL mattresses make the usual Split King footprint. Confirm the exact mattress and base configuration before ordering.
